It's not uncommon for a hen to occasionally lay two eggs in one day, but I've never heard of it being constant. A hen's physiology means that it takes around 25 hours for an egg to travel through the complex mass of wonderous workings and for a calcium-based shell to form. Any hen that was able to pump out more than one egg a day would be likely to have serious bone density problems! |

Hi Michellie, I see that one of your many interests is animal rights. Our farming operations are based on sustainability principles and treating the animals we have with respect.
The wildlife shelter we run is also aimed at ensuing that native animals here have somewhere to bhe treated when they are injured (or orphaned).
Cheers |
